Classes
Search and Rescue Training Course
Class Dates: TBD
In this 2-day course, students will learn how to conduct efficient search and rescue missions using UAVs. Classes will include information on thermal imaging, subject detection, flight patterns, FAA rules and regulations, setting up a command post, flying at night and more! There will be mock search and rescue scenarios to give students hands on experience in real world situations both at night and during the day.

Unmanned Aerial Systems - Ground Flight School (FAA 107 Course)

Class Dates: January 14, 2025 – March 4, 2025 (Wakulla Environmental Institute) January 16, 2025 – March 6, 2025 (Florida Public Safety Institute)
In this 8-week course, students will learn the Federal Aviation Administration Guidelines necessary to obtain your FAA Remote Pilot license to fly a drone. Students who complete this class will have the basic knowledge of the FAA Guidelines on Aviation Weather, Airport Operations, Load and Performance, Risk Assessment, and National Airspace System. This is a test prep course for the FAA Part 107 licensing exam.

Unmanned Aerial Systems - Flight Operation

Class Dates: January 15, 2025 – February 26, 2025 (Florida Public Safety Institute) January 16, 2025 – February 27, 2025 (Wakulla Environmental Institute)
In this 7-week course, students will learn how to fly drones for commercial business use. Students who complete this class will have the basic knowledge of how to fly a drone. Expect completion of mock roof/solar panel inspections, at least 15 hours of flight time, access to practice on our drones outside of class time, and much more.

Introduction to Digital Media Editing for Unmanned Aerial Systems

In this 6-week course, students will learn basic techniques for editing digital videos and photos using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles for the purpose of commercial use. Students who complete this class will have knowledge of how to set up shot selection, color correction, and other important skills to edit and create videos for their customer base. Minimum required computer specs include Intel Core i7 or AMD Ryzen 7, 16GB RAM or better, 4GB VRAM GPU, SSD, or RAID Media Storage. Meets via Zoom Tuesdays from 6-7:30 p.m.
